From Club Nights to Global Tours
Suzi’s career began in London’s underground club scene, managing residencies and crafting immersive music experiences. Her first foray into tour management was accidental—a small label she worked with needed someone to accompany a band on tour. Suzi stepped in, quickly mastering the complexities of the role through curiosity and determination.
Facing Burnout and Finding Balance
Despite her love for the industry, Suzi’s relentless work ethic led to burnout. “I didn’t know my limits,” she admits. Taking a step back, she pursued a degree in naturopathic nutrition, focusing on holistic approaches to health. This pivot was as much about personal healing as it was about discovering a new professional path.
A Holistic Approach to Tour Management
Suzi eventually returned to the road, this time blending her expertise in nutrition with her tour management skills. She worked with artists like PJ Harvey, who valued her holistic approach. Whether creating inclusive rituals for sober crew members or prioritizing sleep and nutrition, Suzi redefined wellness in touring.
The Back Lounge: A Community of Care
The pandemic prompted Suzi to create The Back Lounge, a peer support group for live music professionals. Inspired by the need for connection during isolation, the group fosters an environment where colleagues can share struggles and find solidarity. For Suzi, The Back Lounge represents a new way forward—one where care and community are central to the industry.
A New Era of Touring
Suzi’s journey reflects a broader shift in the live event industry. Her focus on inclusion, well-being, and mental health is a beacon for those seeking sustainability in a demanding field. As Suzi continues to expand her influence, her impact on the industry remains profound.
