The preparation is the service.

Nobody asked for any of it. That was the whole point.

The best people in this industry have already solved the problem before anyone knew there was one. The thing you're about to need — they thought of it an hour ago. The gap you didn't know existed — already filled.

The flowers collected from catering before they got thrown out. The juice spot already mapped before anyone said they were stopping. The bus parked so the door lined up exactly with the hotel exit the artist would use. The backup caterer's number already saved before the truck didn't show. The plot already memorized before someone came running with a problem at midnight.

Nobody asked for any of it. That was the whole point.

That's not a talent. That's a standard. A decision to treat preparation as part of the job rather than something that happens before it.

In live events the difference between good and irreplaceable often comes down to this. Not who executes the best when everything is clear — but who was already thinking ahead when everything was fine.

People remember the feeling of being taken care of. They rarely know exactly why.

Are you waiting to be asked — or already handling it?
